On our scale
At the ECCL, we prioritize sustainability and advocate for eco-friendly practices in our daily operations. Here are some key initiatives that reflect our commitment to the environment:
-
Accessibility The ECCL is easily accessible, thanks to the country-wide free public transport. EureWelcome certified, the ECCL meets the specific needs of participants with reduced mobility.
-
Energy and water consumption Committed to reducing energy and water consumption, we adhere to local regulations and have implemented measures to ensure efficient use of resources.
-
Waste management Our waste management system is designed to minimize waste production and promote recycling. Event organizers are responsible for removing materials, decorative items, and residual waste within specified time frames. In our Foyers, we encourage attendees to actively separate their waste into three categories; paper, plastic and residual waste.
-
Sustainable procurement Sustainability extends to every aspect of our operations. We prioritize local, ethical and sustainable suppliers and service providers, using organic, ecolabelled, fair-trade labelled, local and/or seasonal products, where possible.
-
Amenities & Goodies In line with our commitment to sustainability, we no longer provide paper and pens in meeting rooms. Our sales team selects targeted goodies produced locally to support local organizations and associations. Since 2021, we have refrained from purchasing commercial goodies, utilizing existing stocks instead.
As we move forward, we remain dedicated to hosting exceptional events while minimizing our environmental impact. We firmly believe that excellence and sustainability can go hand in hand.
And what about catering?
At the ECCL, we recognize the importance of food and beverage services in creating memorable events. Our exclusive in-house caterer Sodexo, ISO14001 certified, is committed to sustainability and quality. Here is how they ensure an eco-friendly experience for your event:
-
Local and Seasonal Produce Sodexo prioritizes sourcing local and seasonal ingredients. Labelled “Sou Schmaacht Lëtzebuerg” (local Luxembourg produce), they include the flavors of our region.
-
Minimizing Food Waste They take proactive steps to minimize food waste. Their chefs carefully plan menus, and any surplus food is repurposed to reduce environmental impact.
-
Reusable Cutlery and Tableware To reduce single-use plastic, they provide reusable cutlery, tableware, and materials. This not only benefits the environment but also enhances the dining experience.
-
Vegetarian Options Their menus include various vegetarian dishes. We believe in catering to diverse dietary preferences while promoting sustainability.
-
Transparency and Quality Customers receive detailed information about the origin and quality of the products they serve. We believe in transparency and trust.
